Your factory builds the machines, but a freight forwarder gets them to your door. A good forwarder saves you money and stress; a bad one causes delays, unexpected charges, and lost containers. Choosing the right logistics partner is as important as choosing the right supplier. Here is how to find one you can trust.
Factory-Recommended vs. Independent Forwarders
Many Guangzhou factories, including ours, have established relationships with freight forwarders who understand amusement equipment — they know the crate dimensions, the weight distribution, and the common destination ports. Using a factory-recommended forwarder often streamlines communication because the factory and forwarder already coordinate regularly. However, you are free to use your own forwarder. In that case, provide them with our detailed crate dimensions, weights, and loading plan so they can quote accurately.
Questions to Ask Before Booking
Ask about transit time to your specific port, not just a generic estimate. Ask for a breakdown of all charges — ocean freight, terminal handling, documentation fees, customs brokerage, and last-mile delivery — in writing. Ask about their experience with amusement equipment specifically. Ask what happens if a container is delayed or rolled. A transparent forwarder answers all these questions without hesitation. We can provide a list of forwarders our clients have used successfully across different regions.
FCL vs. LCL: What Works for Arcade Machines
Full Container Load is the safer choice for arcade machines. Your cargo is not mixed with other shippers' goods, reducing damage risk and simplifying customs. Less than Container Load can work for smaller trial orders, but the handling is rougher and delivery timelines are less predictable. We advise FCL whenever the order volume justifies it and can help you calculate whether your order fills a 20-foot or 40-foot container efficiently.
Insurance: Never Skip It
Marine cargo insurance covers your shipment against loss, damage, and theft during transit. A forwarder can arrange it, or you can purchase it independently. The cost is typically a fraction of a percent of the cargo value — negligible compared to the risk. We include the insured value on all shipping documents and recommend full-coverage marine insurance for every order.
Coordinating Factory and Forwarder Timelines
The smoothest shipments happen when the factory and forwarder communicate directly about the production completion date, the container booking, and the loading schedule. We manage this coordination as part of our service, providing your forwarder with a ready-to-load notice and a preferred loading window. If you use our recommended forwarder, the entire process is handled under one project timeline.
A great forwarder makes importing feel easy. When you request a quote from us, ask about our logistics coordination service. We will explain how we work with your chosen forwarder or recommend trusted partners, and as always, provide a free CAD floor plan for your venue. Phone: +86 19124246331.
