A new luxury arcade named Silk Hat Akihabara officially opened in November 2025 at the iconic 33-year-old venue in Tokyo’s Akihabara Electric Town. The location originally opened as a SEGA arcade in 1992 and later operated under GiGO.The new operator aims to preserve the site’s historic arcade culture while upgrading to a modern, high-end entertainment space. It features a curated selection of claw machines, classic fighting games, and limited-edition IP-themed machines. With its prime location near JR Akihabara Station and a sleek redesign, Silk Hat is expected to become a new landmark for arcade fans in Tokyo.
